August 1, 2006

Oh me! Oh my! Well, things sure were jumping today. Michael finished his bottle at 9:00a, 12:00p, 3:00p, and 6:00p. By the time we had arrived for his 6:00p feeding the nurse had removed his feeding tube. She did say that it might need to go back in, but this was a big step in the right direction. She even started talking about him going home tomorrow. Later she said that he might not, but that really got us thinking about what we were missing for him at home.

We realized that we never got any bottles and accessories. We had always kind of planned that he would be breast feeding and had never revised that plan when he came out so early. Oops!

And so many things need to still be washed. And some furniture rearranged. And a few other things purchased. And the list mounts.

Tomorrow? Ok, maybe not, but still. Soon! Oh my! We did manage to get this realization postponed for a month, but here it is. Michael will be coming home some day. We thought we were ready until they said "tomorrow". Now, not so much so.

Again, it most likely won't be tomorrow, as in August 2nd. But now we know that it is very possible to be within a week. Very possible. Have I said, "Oh my!" yet?

We'll probably call sometime during the night to see if the feeding tube needed to be put back in, not that we are hoping for that, just curious. Oh my!
